Port Jervis
hosts 2009 Orange County Kickoff Assembly
Students,
teachers, administrators, police officers, & legislators from
throughout Orange County celebrated the official kickoff of Red
Ribbon Week Oct. 23 at a powerful assembly at Port Jervis High
School. The event was hosted by the PJHS SADD ( Students Against
Destructive Decisions) in conjunction with the Orange County
Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council.

Port Jervis School
Resource Office Kelly Decker introduces the four PJHS
students who performed in the thought-provoking video.
The video, which was created by Decker, demonstrated the
devastating effect bad choices have on people's lives.

The motivational assembly
was hosted by the PJHS SADD. Club advisors Diane
Bloodgood, Carolyn Dorritie, and Officer Kelly Decker
are pictured with several of the SADD members who worked
hard to organized the event. |

a burning bush -equivalent to the Olympic torch - to a
student from Pine Bush High School, the official host of
the 2010 Red Ribbon Week kickoff assembly.
