chef provides hands-on cooking lesson

enthusiastic Port Jervis Middle School cooks, and homemade maple syrup?
Ask any of the Middle School students who spent the day
recently at the YMCA Camp in
Hugenot with
celebrity chef
Marcus Samuelsson.
They'll tell you it's a recipe for a fun and informative segment
on
Fox 5 Good Day New
York.

The Middle School
Cooking Club members were featured on a recent Good Day New York
segment in which they helped chef Marcus Samuelsson of
Manhattan's Aquavit create a signature recipe using the YMCA camp's maple syrup.
Bottles of the locally-made maple syrup
can be purchased at the YMCA. A bottle of the camp's syrup is
also are available to those who
make a $100 donation to the YMCA Strong Kids campaign, which
raises money to provide scholarships to families to help them
send their kids to sleep-away camp this summer. New York YMCA
Camp raises money through the Strong Kids Campaign to ensure
that no one is turned away from YMCA programs and services due
to an inability to pay.
