2009 Read Across America
Nation's largest reading celebration
On March 19, Hamilton Bicentennial Elementary
School participated in one of the country's largest celebrations
of reading - Read Across America Day.
Sponsored by the National Education Association, Read Across
America is celebrated each year in conjunction with the birthday
of children's author Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
Our reading celebration included a "magical" assembly, classroom
activities, and our annual lunch feast of Green Eggs and Ham.
Our students also enjoyed "read-alouds" with guest readers in their
classrooms. Special thanks to our school administrators, retired
teachers and staff members, community members, and other special
guests who took time to read to our students.
