Port Jervis High School honors students
for perfect attendance

Attendance rates at Port Jervis High School continue
to rise. For the past three years, everyone at the
High School – from the administrators and guidance
counselors to the classroom teachers and attendance
officers – have been involved in the district’s
efforts to improve student attendance. Their efforts
are paying off. This year, the school set a new
record for perfect attendance – a total of 73
students didn’t miss a day of school.
The High School recognized the students’ perfect
attendance records by presenting each of them with a
special attendance certificate and taking time
during the school day to announce their names.
“We are extremely proud of our perfect attendance
students. They displayed a consistent dedication to
their education and are role models for their
classmates. I would also like to recognize their
parents and guardians for placing an important
emphasis on attending school,” said Assistant
Principal Andrew Marotta.
