Port Jervis City School District Assistant Superintendent for Business Lorelei Case has received a Certificate in Labor Relations from the Cornell University School of Industrial & Labor Relations.

Cornell University's ILR School is the country's pre-eminent authority on issues relating to the workplace. In addition to graduate and undergraduate degrees, the ILR School offers the country's broadest continuing education professional training programs in human resources, diversity management, labor relations, personal and management development for success in the workplace.

The Labor Relations Certificate Program is one of several certifications offered to public school administrators through Questar BOCES. Backed by the resources of Cornell University’s ILR School, the 10-session labor relations program was developed specifically for district contract administrators. It covers all aspects of contract provisions, labor management strategies, effective discipline and grievance handling.

The program provides a blend of theory, best practice and legal insight that is designed to help administrators conduct sound labor relations in their district.
