Bell elected to New York State education board

John Bell, assistant superintendent for instruction, was elected to the New York State Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (NYSASCD) executive board.

An affiliate of ASCD Worldwide, the state association assists educators in the development and delivery of quality instructional programs and supervisory practices to maximize success for all learners. Currently, the educational organization represents over 2,200 educators in New York State and more than 180,000 members worldwide.

As a member of the executive board, Bell will be responsible for helping to strengthen the state association’s policies and to develop programs and services dedicated to improving teaching and educational leadership.

“ASCD is the leading education organization in the world. I am honored to be elected to the New York State executive board. This position will help me influence policy decisions on the state level that will benefit small city school districts like Port Jervis,” says Bell. “It will also provide me with opportunities to bring more top-notch staff development opportunities to our part of the state.”
