elected to New York State education board

John Bell,
assistant superintendent for instruction, was elected to the New
York State Association for Supervision and Curriculum
Development (NYSASCD) executive board.
An affiliate of ASCD Worldwide, the state association assists
educators in the development and delivery of quality
instructional programs and supervisory practices to maximize
success for all learners. Currently, the educational
organization represents over 2,200 educators in New York State
and more than 180,000 members worldwide.
As a member of the executive board, Bell will be responsible for
helping to strengthen the state association’s policies and to
develop programs and services dedicated to improving teaching
and educational leadership.
“ASCD is the leading education organization in the world. I am
honored to be elected to the New York State executive board.
This position will help me influence policy decisions on the
state level that will benefit small city school districts like
Port Jervis,” says Bell. “It will also provide me with
opportunities to bring more top-notch staff development
opportunities to our part of the state.”
