Savino and Stawski named OCIAA

Seniors Carly Savino and Christopher Stawski are the 2009-10
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA)
Scholar-Athletes for Port Jervis High School. The two stand-out
Raider athletes were honored April 28, along with the top
scholar-athletes from throughout the county, at the OCIAA annual
awards banquet at Kuhl's Highland House in Middletown. Athletes
are selected for the honor based
on their athletic, academic, and extracurricular
accomplishments.
Ranked eleventh in the Class of 2010, Carly Savino maintained a
grade point average of 92.07 while being actively involved in
sports and extracurricular activities. Carly is a member of the
National Honor Society, Senior Enrichment, the Varsity Club, Ski
Club and Peer Leaders. She has been an outstanding member of the
girl’s varsity soccer team as a left mid-fielder and on the
right front-line. As a result of her demonstrated leadership
abilities, Carly was selected to serve as team captain and
president of the Varsity Club.
Next year, Carly will attend the University of Albany. She is
the daughter of Westbrookville residents Glenn and Jennifer
Savino.
Chris Stawski is a standout on and off the field. Ranked tenth
in his, Chris has a grade point average of 93.36. He played on
two Raider teams: serving as the varsity football quarterback
and cornerback, and as the pitcher and an outfielder for the
baseball team.
Chris is also a member of the National Honor Society and the
Varsity Club. Outside of school, he works at Bethel Woods.
This fall, he plans to major in engineering at SUNY Binghamton.
Chris is the son of Port Jervis residents David and Donna
Stawski.
