from New York State.

CultureGrams:
Aims to give information about the world's countries and peoples
in order to foster a better understanding and appreciation of
those who are different from us.
EBSCO Host: This database
provides access to over 750 magazines, through Masterfile Select
and Topic Search. Primary Search gives full text of Children &
YA periodicals.
Gale group:
This group of databases provides information on businesses,
health resources, authors, as well as reprints of magazines,
newspapers & reference books. Includes Informe, containing over
40 full-text Spanish language and bilingual magazines and a
database of newspapers, New York State newspapers, and an Index
to America’s top five national papers.
Grolier Online: This
database includes encyclopedias: Grolier Multimedia
Encyclopedia, The New Book of Knowledge, Amazing Animals of the
World, and The New Book of Popular Science, as well as edited
websites, newspapers and magazines. It's a good place to start
your research. If you are using it from home, you will need a
user ID and password from Mrs. Perkowski. Funded by the NYS
NOVEL project.
TeachingBooks.Net: (From
the O-U BOCES School Library System) - Author Programs, Book
Discussions & Resources.
Tumblebooks:A new way to read books! Access to eight categories
containing picture books, early readers, chapter books, middle
school readers, YA/teen Novels, children's classics, classics
and Shakespeare. These Read-A-longs highlight the sentences as
they are being read, turn the page automatically, and offer the
ability to follow along in three text sizes.
Proquest:
This database indexes professional education periodicals and is
geared toward teachers and parents. Users looking for access
should see Mrs. Perkowski in the library for a user id and
password.

to log onto Renaissance Place to take reading quizzes on books
they have read. Passwords are provided by classroom teachers.
