Welcome to Hamilton Bicentennial Elementary School
 |
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the new school year begins,
we are excited to welcome all the students
back
from summer vacation!
Our first day of school for students is Tuesday,
September 6.
This year Open House will be held on two evenings: Wednesday,
September 15 for grades 1-3 and Thursday, September 16 for
grades 4-6. Both nights will begin at 7 p.m.
Port Jervis no longer participates in the federal
Universal Breakfast Program.
Beginning this year, there is a charge for breakfast: $1.10 for
elementary students/$1.50 for middle & high school students.
Free and reduced-priced breakfasts are available to all families
that meet the guidelines for the National Lunch Program. Under
the program, the reduced price for breakfast is 25 cents. Lunch
prices for the 2011-2012 school year have increased by 10 cents
at the elementary schools. The price for hot lunch will be
$2.10. Reduced priced meals will remain the same at 25 cents and
milk will cost $.45.
Students will be entering the building at 8:55 a.m. and
will be considered late after 9:05 a.m.
Please do not bring your child(ren) to school before 8:55 a.m.,
as there is no supervision. Dismissal will begin at 3 p.m. for
kindergarten, grade 1 and children being picked up by their
parents in the cafeteria. Grades 2-6 will be dismissed at 3:05
p.m. Busses will leave HBE at 3:10 p.m.
Again, this year, in order for your child(ren) to receive
perfect attendance for the school year, your child(ren) needs to
attend school for the whole day, with no tardies and/or early
dismissals. This procedure is the same for the Anna S. Kuhl
Elementary School.
We have a few staff changes for this year:
• Mrs. Linda List will be our school nurse, replacing Mrs. Foster who
transferred
to ASK.
• Ms. Schock will be filling in for Mrs. Vilord, while she is on
maternity leave
until October.
• Mrs. Jashembowski will be working with both Mrs. Vilord and Mrs.
Kuroski
as a special education inclusion teacher.
• Ms. Chiappetta will be working with both Mrs. Gass and Mrs. Sarbello
as a special education inclusion teacher.
• Mrs. Rudden will be working with Mrs. Walsh as a special education
inclusion teacher.
I look forward to seeing you at Open House.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to stop
by or call me at 858-3100 ext. 14500.
Sincerely,
Linda Korycki
