Holiday Celebrations 2009

Elementary School teachers capitalized on their
students' excitement about the December holidays by engaging
classes in lessons that combine fun and learning.
An elf has joined Kindergarten!
Beth
Polanis' kindergarten class had a special holiday

guest - an tiny elf, who made himself at home in one of the
classes potted plants. The class voted on what to name the elf.
The results were counted and graphed. After the final tally, the
winning name was "Postie." The students then told stories and
wrote about "Postie's" visit in their journals.
Winter Concert rings in the season
HBE
music students ushered in the holiday season Dec. 10 by
performing seasonal favorites at this year's Winter Concert.

Working together on holiday craft projects

Vilord's first grade class enjoyed working together on holiday
projects. Special thanks to the parents who volunteered to help
the students with their projects.
