Welcome to the Port Jervis City School District!

Dear Parents and Community Members:

As the 2017-2018 school year begins, our Central Administration team wanted to reach out to you and share our vision for the Port Jervis School District.

Mr. Mike Rydell came on board over the summer as the new Assistant Superintendent for Instruction.  Mr. Rydell has already met with the district Administration team as well as the entire district staff to share his areas of focus for curriculum and instruction.  He plans to build a strong foundation using district-wide teams that are already in place to ensure that the district has a unified approach to providing the best educational opportunities for your children.

Ms. Lorelei Case, Assistant Superintendent for Business, has been with the district for 13 years.  She has insured fiscal stability throughout her tenure.  Her knowledge and skills regarding all aspects of the district are far-reaching -  from buildings and grounds to food service to instructional programming. Ms. Case remains student-centered while also mindful of preparing a responsible budget.

Finally, my name is Ruth Zuclich, and I am presently the Interim Superintendent of Schools.  My background is in special education and I served here in Port Jervis for five and a half years as Director of Pupil Personnel Services, retiring in January 2016.  My role is to assist the Board of Education and the community in the process of finding a Superintendent for the district.  I will fulfill all responsibilities of the Superintendent while conducting the search, insuring that the education process runs smoothly for our children.
